Hollow Points are Legal
There is a misunderstanding that Hollow-point and similar defensive ammunition is illegal. This is INCORRECT. In terms of the Firearms Control Act, a person licenced to carry a firearm may have ANY ammunition of that calibre in his firearm.
ALL ammunition legally purchased in a Gun Shop is legal to carry. Defensive Ammunition is chosen for it’s ability NOT to over-penetrate a target and to increase ballistic performance.
ONE-UP IS THE RECOMMENDED STATE: GOSA highly recommends that Firearm Owners carry their firearms with a live round in the chamber - the way they are designed to function. The choice of whether to carry a live round in the chamber (one up) or not is up to the OWNER of the firearm. The Firearms Control Act makes NO restriction on the state of carry of a firearm.
